About it
The problem
Flight simulators either ship fictional scenery or need a heavy install, and real photogrammetry of the Earth is rarely available in a browser.
The approach
Skyframe is a Vite and strict TypeScript app on CesiumJS that streams Google Photorealistic 3D Tiles, free through Cesium ion or directly from Google. The physics is a 6-DOF rigid body in double-precision ECEF coordinates on a fixed 120 Hz step, with an ISA atmosphere, calibrated per aircraft from published figures.
- Eleven aircraft with real specifications, and real runways from OurAirports.
- Gear contact on the photogrammetry, landing scoring and crash logic.
- Falls back to Cesium World Terrain with aerial imagery when the tile asset is unavailable.
The result
A static build on Vercel with a plain DOM interface. It needs a free Cesium ion token, and is for personal, non-commercial use.
What it does4
Real Scenery
Real Aircraft
Real Runways
Landing and Crashes
