## About

### The problem

SpaceX launch data is spread across pages and feeds, and Dragon tracking has no simple developer interface.

### The approach

I built a Django REST Framework API that returns launch statistics, upcoming missions, launch history and Dragon capsule telemetry as JSON, deployed on Vercel with python-decouple for configuration.

- Statistics for total launches, landings and reflights.
- Upcoming missions with live updates, and the full launch history.
- Dragon GPS tracking and telemetry, with Python examples in the documentation.

### The result

Live at spacex-api.rone.dev. It replaced an earlier API repository and is the data source behind my Follow Dragon tracker.
