About it
The problem
Explanations of Bitcoin describe keys, signatures and mining in the abstract, and it is hard to see how they connect.
The approach
This project builds the core pieces small enough to read: key generation and addresses, ECDSA-signed transactions, blocks mined with proof of work, a transaction pool and balance tracking, with an interactive menu.
- A wallet with private key, public key and a Bitcoin-like address.
- Transactions that are created, signed and verified.
- A chain with mining and validation.
The result
A teaching implementation, simple on purpose and not a real currency.
